“I didn’t know you do that!”
June 2013
We work with different types of clients with a wide range of needs. This gives us experience in working through different life and organizational issues and a broad range of ideas, expertise and ways to offer advice to our clients. It seems like we run across themes from time to time – sometimes the theme is reviewing potential retirement income, other times the sales of businesses. The themes include receiving and planning to give inheritances, retirement, charitable giving and more.
Recently, the theme seems to be a common client comment – “I did not know you do that.” Some version of this has been heard in our offices too often recently. This newsletter, Wealth Notes, is designed to provide education about different planning and life issues to you and to help assist you in understanding how the pieces of investing, insurance, planning, tax, estate and more fit together. We realize that life is busy and not everyone reads every single communication from us (shock and tears!). Still, over time, we find the various newsletters help our clients stay abreast of our take on investment markets and the pieces of financial planning and investment management.
The approach we take here at Cascade Investment Group is one of consulting and partnership. We do not sell a product, a hot stock or trade around from one investment platform to the next. We seek to understand your goals, intentions, concerns and resources. From there, we create a plan, find the right strategies to accomplish the plan and monitor, review and update the plan and strategies as needed. We do not start with one strategy before understanding how the pieces fit together.
What happens, sometimes, is our clients forget all the ways we can approach helping them achieve goals. We get started on retirement savings for someone, for instance, and they forget we can offer consulting on their estate plan or long-term care insurance needs.
Our list of ways we can help is long.
This is a short newsletter – one designed to help you to remember to call us at Cascade Investment Group as you approach new phases, challenges or opportunities in your life. A new baby, give us a call. We love to hear the news. A new job offer? Let us help you understand how the new income or benefits work with your goals. Considering moving to a new home – do not hesitate to call to review mortgage options and how the home fits in to your plans. We do not provide mortgages to clients. We have seen the terms of many mortgages and can understand how the new payments and terms will work for your long range goals or hurt them.
The team here feels more valuable as we have ongoing conversations with you – and the important matters in your life. We prefer and need to know if there are health issues or graduations, vacation plans or estate plans. Count on us for our advice and remember, most of the time, we have experienced other clients going through similar circumstances.
We do not do everything here at Cascade. Call us next time you are thinking through a new idea or life issue. We often can help “do that” with you.
